Conditional Dismissal (N.J.S.A. 2C:43-13.1)

New Jersey’s municipal-court diversion for first-time defendants charged with a disorderly-persons or petty disorderly-persons offense. You complete a probationary term with conditions — anger management is a common one — and on successful completion the charge is dismissed. It’s handled in the Ocean City municipal court.

Pretrial Intervention / PTI (R. 3:28, N.J.S.A. 2C:43-12)

The Superior Court equivalent for indictable offenses, supervised through the Cape May County Superior Court in Cape May Court House. PTI diverts eligible defendants into a monitored program — frequently including anger management — and ends in dismissal when every condition is met.

Why the program you choose decides the outcome

Both paths share one rule: the diversion only works if you actually complete the conditions the way the court accepts. If your anger-management condition isn’t satisfied with a recognized program, the dismissal can fall apart and the case goes back to prosecution. That’s why a live, documented program — not a self-paced download — matters here.

What NJAMG provides for Ocean City clients

Live, private, one-on-one sessions — never self-paced, never a group. 4, 8, 12, or 16 sessions calibrated to your exact order, English or Spanish, evenings and weekends. Same-day enrollment letter, completion certificate meeting New Jersey standards, and direct verification to the court or probation officer on request — so your condition is cleanly documented.
